How do I add items I wish to purchase to my shopping basket?
When you have found the book you want to purchase, click on the title or image to bring up the full page. If applicable, select the edition you would like to purchase (hardback or paperback) from the dropdown menu if applicable. To add the item to your shopping basket simply click on ADD TO CART. The content of your shopping basket, with details of items added and their price, will appear in the top right corner of your screen.
Click on VIEW CART to complete your purchase, or use the ‘back’ arrow on your browser to continue browsing and add further items to your cart.
How do I delete items/alter quantities in my shopping basket?
To delete items in your basket, click on the red “X” button next to the item you wish to remove. Once that has been done, click on the UPDATE CART button to renew your basket. The number of books on order may be altered using the quantity box and again clicking on UPDATE CART.
How do I place an order?
When you have finished shopping, click on VIEW CART or on the CART link on the top-right corner of your screen to view your shopping basket. Click on PROCEED TO CHECKOUT. Check the details of your order. If you are not already a registered user, enter your personal details and delivery address and then click on PLACE ORDER. You will be taken to the PayPal website where you can pay for your order either with a PayPal account, if you have one, or by credit card.
How do I pay for my order?
We use PayPal to purchase products from our website.
What is PayPal?
PayPal is an account-based system that lets anyone with an email address securely send and receive online payments using their credit card or bank account.
All payments are made over PayPal’s secure encrypted connection so credit cards numbers and private details cannot be stolen in transit.
If you have not purchased anything through PayPal before, you can either register with PayPal and setup a new account, or you may purchase by credit card without registering.
The Islamic Texts Society does not handle or even see your credit card or bank account details. All credit card processing is handled by PayPal, using SSL technology to keep your information safe.

What currencies can I use to make a purchase?
All payments must be made in Pound Sterling (GBP).
What countries can I order from?
You can order books from any country in the world. Please note that for orders placed outside of UK, the EU, and the USA we ask that you contact us before ordering the books to find out the cost of posting the books to you and delivery options available.
Your order
When you place an order you will automatically receive a confirmation email from us to confirm your order. Your order constitutes an offer made to us to purchase the goods specified in the order.
Your offer is only accepted by us once we have emailed you to confirm the dispatch of your order.
We reserve the right to delay or refuse orders where a transaction contains incomplete details or details that cannot be verified or where fraud is suspected.
Delivery charges
All orders received by us are dispatched via Royal Mail. Delivery charges and times are shown in the chart below.

Please note that the estimated delivery time is the usual time taken from when we dispatch the parcel to when you receive it. This is not a guaranteed delivery time.
For orders placed outside the UK, the EU, and the USA we kindly ask that you contact us before ordering the books to find out the cost of posting the books to you and delivery options available.
Other charges
Please be aware that purchases made from the Islamic Texts Society may carry an international service charge for cross border transactions (i.e. where the retailer and customer are in different countries). The Islamic Texts Society is based in the UK and all orders placed outside the UK may incur these international service charges. Not all payment card transactions will incur this charge (it depends on your card issuer), and the amount varies depending on the type of card used (generally a small percentage of the total). Please note that it is your responsibility to be aware of any international service charges that your card issuer may charge. As we have no visibility or control of these fees, we are unable to refund them.
My card has been declined. What should I do?
If you tried to purchase a book from the Islamic Texts Society website but your card was declined, please contact your bank or card provider to rectify the problem for you.
Fraudulent use of my card on this website. What should I do?
If you think someone has fraudulently used your card on this website, please contact your card provider as soon as possible to let them know and rectify the problem.
Please also contact us to report the fraudulent use so that we can cancel the order.
How can I find out about the progress of my order?
Registered users can track the progress of their order by clicking on the YOUR ACCOUNT link on the top right corner of the screen where they will be able to see if their order has been processed and dispatched. Otherwise, please contact the Islamic Texts Society on mail@its.org.uk.
Can I cancel my order?
It is not possible to cancel an order once you have received a confirmation email for it. If your order has already been dispatched, you can return it following the procedure shown in ‘Can I return my order?’ below.
Can I return a product?
Cancellation
Where you purchase products from this website for personal use and not for resale, under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulation 2000 you have the right to cancel your purchase and return the product to us. To exercise this right, you must inform us in writing, by email or letter, within 7 working days from the day after you receive your purchase.
No right of cancellation exists for products that have been used. Unused products must be returned in their original condition.
You are responsible for the cost of returning the product to us. The product will be returned at your risk.
We will credit your credit or debit card as appropriate for the price of the product, provided that the product is returned to us in the condition it was in when delivered to you.
Please follow the guidelines below for returns.
Damaged or defective products
Damaged or defective products can be returned to us according to the guidelines below. You must inform us in writing, by email or letter, within 7 working days from the day after you receive your purchase.
You are responsible for returning the product to us. We will refund the cost of postage for damaged or defective products.
We will check all items returned as damaged or defective, and we will either send a replacement or offer a refund.
Please follow the guidelines below for returns.
How do I return a product?
State the reason for the return on the back of your delivery note and quote your order number. If you are returning the product because it is defective or damaged, please describe the defects, and state whether you wish to be refunded or sent a replacement copy. If you are returning the product because you wish to withdraw from your purchase, please state ‘product no longer required’.
Repackage the product including any accessories, parts or brochures that came with it. Please ensure the product is adequately and safely packaged for shipping.
Please note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the items to us unless we delivered the product to you in error, or if the product is damaged or defective. We recommend that you use a recorded delivery service and at the very least acquire official proof of posting.
We will not offer a refund for items that are lost or stolen while in transit to us. In this case, you should seek compensation from the shipping company.

How do I get a refund?
Subject to the above, if a refund is due on your order, we will authorise PayPal to refund you. You do not need to contact PayPal.
How are refunds credited?
If you paid with your debit card or credit card, your payment is refunded to that card. Refunds may take up to 30 days to appear on your statement.
If you paid with your bank account or PayPal balance, your payment is refunded to your PayPal balance. Refunds are in the same currency and at the same conversion rate as the original payment.
Can I place an order over the phone?
If you would like to place an order over the phone, please contact us on +44 (0)1223 842425. Payment by cheque is required for telephone orders. Cheques should be made payable to ‘The Islamic Texts Society’ and sent to us at the address below. The order will be despatched to you on receipt of your cheque.

How does My Account work?
If you are a new customer, you can create an account so that you can shop faster in the future and keep track of orders you have made in the past. To create your own account, click on YOUR ACCOUNT and fill in the forms. Your account details will be kept securely on our system, and they are accessible to you (and you only) at any time. All you need to do is click on YOUR ACCOUNT, and then log in by entering your email address and password.
Do I need to create an account to order from the website?
No, you do not need to have an account to place an order. However, please note that without an account you may not be able to track the status of your order.
I have forgotten my password. What should I do?
